There are millions and millions of things that are blue. Blue things can be found everywhere, from paint on the walls to the sky above you. When working with kids, however, we want to focus on major things in their everyday lives that are blue.

What are some things associated with blue?

Many things that are blue in the world we live in. While we know many of the names, we are still unaware of much more that are blue and look captivating. This is because, very few flowers, animals or plants are completely blue and most of the blue things that we know as blue are actually manufactured things like blue jackets, blue bottles or blue paint.

Sky

People say that sky is blue and it looks picturesque when white clouds float in the backdrop of a blue sky. However, it an altogether another fact that it is because the color blue travels in short waves, it is scattered more by the air molecules on our earth and the sky appears blue.

Blue Orchids

Blue orchids are rare to find as their natural habitat in the tropical rain forests is on the verge of destruction due to deforestation. However, now these are cultivated in a nursery environment and offer a great sight as a cut flower in wedding decorations.

Blue Crab

Blue Crab is in plenty in the western Atlantic Ocean as well as in the Gulf of Mexico.  It lost its color when cooked, and turns red. However, its meat is sweet and tender because of which it is of commercial importance in the United States of America. Blue crab eats small fishes, snails, plants and even small crabs.

Very few people have blue eyes. Researchers believe that people with blue eyes may have a common ancestor. Blue eyes are also more vulnerable to get affect by UV rays. Some of the celebrities with beautiful blue eyes are Jennifer Lawrence, Taylor Swift, Tom Cruise, Carla Paneka, Elizabeth Hurley, and more.

Blue Millipede

Blue Millipede is native to Mexico and lives in the high altitude forests. In contrast to its good looks is actually extremely deadly. It can be 5 inches in length and has antennas to navigate the surroundings. A blue millipede has actually no eyes, but does not fall an easy prey to its predators.

Blue Eastern Bird is common in the Gulf States, Arizona, and Southern Canada. It is small and is easy to spot in orchards, farmlands or woodlands. It survives on wild fruits and small insects.

Humpback Whale is a magnificent whale measuring 32 ft to more than 50 ft in length. It is on the verge of extinction due to excessive hunting. The whale only feeds in the summer season and lives on its fat reserves during the winter.

Neptune is the densest planet that is located far away from the earth. Although it looks very small from a telescope, its mass is 17 times more than our earth. It has many moons of which Triton is the largest one. It is named after a Roman God.

Regal Blue Tang

Regal Blue Tang is a popular aquarium fish found all over the world. It is common in coral reefs and coastal water. It has a striking yellow tail and looks very beautiful. Also known as the Palette Surgeonfish, Regal Blue Tang was a famous animation character in the blockbuster movie ‘Finding Dory’. It has a sharp spine with toxin to protect itself from its predators.

Uranus is a planet of our solar system and is massive in its size. It is very cold and windy. It got its name from the Greek God ‘Ouranos’. It takes 84 years to complete one revolution around the sun. The chemical uranium has derived its name from this planet.

Blue Jellyfish

Blue Jellyfish is particularly common in the Pacific Ocean around Japan. It has long tentacles with the help of which they sting severely. Last year, people found billions of blue jellyfishes on the beaches in America in a mysterious way.

Blueberries are one of the most powerful sources of antioxidants in this world. These are very popular in the US. They are only next to the strawberries in consumption. Hyacinth Macaw

Now, an endangered species, Hyacinth Macaw is a parrot that grows up to 40 inches in length and is native to America. It makes its nest in tree holes. Hyacinth Macaw is very messy while eating and mostly drop the seeds while carrying the same over a distance to eat. It plays a vital role in seed dispersal.

Things That Are Blue – Coloring Sheets

Kids love to paint and draw pictures that fascinate them or arouse a curiosity. Here, we are presenting a collection of coloring sheets for all the things that are blue. In a kindergarten, these sheets could play a good role in helping toddlers to know about things that are blue, and in helping teachers to let the toddlers unleash their inner creative talent.  Such sheets are an excellent educational tool and if kids are encouraged, coloring can become a favorite pastime, which is simply great! Blue color activities For kindergarten

Blueberry blue

Make a blueberry pie: cut small pie shapes out of tan construction paper. Cut small blue holes with a hole punch out of dark blue paper. Let the children spread glue on their pies and add the blueberries.

Blue Fish

Draw a fish neatly on a paper and keep it aside. Now, pour some blue paint in a tray and keep aside some bottle tops as stamps to create scales of fish by dipping them in the tray. Ask children to do it one by one. They will experience joy while doing this blue color activity.
