My Perfect Vacation – Munnar Travel Experience

I recently enjoyed a perfect vacation with my family. After a long debate, we zeroed down to a trip to Munnar to celebrate our summer vacation.

Reaching Munnar

As we are from Hyderabad, after checking possible routes through train and bus, we decided that we would be better off if we take the flight to Cochin as it saves good amount time and convenient too. We booked our flight on 16th of Jan 2016 as we got best offer on flight tickets. We landed in Cochin at around 12 pm. We had plenty of time to take a good lunch at the airport. We continued our travel to Munnar through a pre-booked cab from Cochin. The driver who accompanied us with an Innova was pleasant to be with. He soon became close and chatty. He had a good knowledge on the places to visit in Munnar. So, as a family we thought it would be beneficial to use his services for next couple of days which turned out to be our best decision in the trip. After couple of pit stops, we reached Munnar at about 5pm and checked into our hotel – Blu Haze Resort.

The Resort

We couldn’t have got a perfect place to stay than this one. Our family got a presidential suit which has got an amazing view of valley from the balcony. The restaurant in the resort provides wide variety of seafood which was delicacies that one should enjoy while staying here. The behavior of resort staffs was very kind and overwhelming.

Munnar Sight Seeing

After a good night sleep, we were excited to venture out in the hired cab to see the natural beauties of Munnar. The fresh air through car window refreshed the mood. First thing we saw was Mattupetty dam. Then we moved to Echo point which was breath-taking. After spending some good family time at the Echo point, we went to Kundala Lake. We took a boat ride in the Lake. All you could hear is the sound of water and birds and it was so mesmerizing that you lose yourself into the limbo. The place is so quiet that your soul joins with nature. We spent quite a few hours in the Lake-side and enjoyed the snacks sold over there. On the second day, we went to the tea gardens, tea factory & tea museum. Tea gardens are one of the sought after place for tourists to build most memorable experiences. The scenic beauty of tea gardens was so romantic and soothing. In short this is the best way to feel the connection with nature. We did click some memorable pictures in these tea gardens. One should take a leisurely walk in this place. We did allow our kids to play a lot in the garden while I took a walk for about an hour or so with the greenish garden. Post lunch, we moved to Eravikulam National Park. There nothing much to see here – but, the place is good for relaxing. On day three, we vacated the resort and moved to Cochin. We didn’t book a hotel in Cochin and we only had a few hours to spend there before our flight. We were just able to cover St. Francis Church, Dutch Palace & Jew Street. We did a bit of shopping in Cochin as well.

The Return

We departed from Cochin at around 9 PM with most satisfying memories. The entire trip had helped our family to refresh ourselves and take our time out from day today city routines. I was most satisfied and happy about choosing Munnar for my trip. It was the most perfect vacation to me.
